Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in Tampa, FL. The ideal candidate will have up to two years of experience in a law firm setting. While experience in criminal defense, personal injury, consumer protection, class actions, or business litigation is preferred, it is not required. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with partners and staff, handling all aspects of litigation from inception to post-trial.

Duties

  • Conduct legal research and provide analysis on various issues.
  • Prepare and draft legal documents, including pleadings and contracts.
  • Manage a caseload independently, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Meet with clients to gather information and provide legal advice.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings and trials.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure efficient case management.
  • Ensure compliance with Florida state laws and ethical standards.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with the Florida Bar.
  • 0-2 years of prior experience preferred.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in legal software and research tools.
  • Ability to prioritize workload based on deadlines.
  • Ability to meet billing requirements.

Education
