Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Financial Services Associate to join their team in Redwood Shores, CA. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of litigation experience and a strong interest in financial services and creditors' rights litigation. Some experience, or at least a strong interest in learning, some, or all the following: bankruptcy litigation over use of cash collateral, prejudgment remedies, motions for relief from stay and adequate protection, state and federal receivership cases, creditors' rights litigation including actions on guarantees, lender liability claims, and fraudulent transfer and preference actions is desired.

Duties

  • Engage in bankruptcy litigation, including the use of cash collateral and prejudgment remedies.
  • Handle motions for relief from stay and adequate protection.
  • Participate in state and federal receivership cases.
  • Conduct creditor's rights litigation, including actions on guarantees and lender liability claims.
  • Manage fraudulent transfer and preference actions.
  • Contribute to general commercial litigation, such as breach of contract and fraud cases.

Requirements

  • Active California law license and good standing.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Experience as a clerk for a bankruptcy judge is a plus.
  • Exceptional analytical and writing abilities.
  • Excellent client service skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively.
  • Desire to appear in court with confident oral communication skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
