Senior General Liability Attorney

Job Overview
A law firm seeks a Senior General Liability Attorney in Houston, Texas. This role offers an opportunity to work with prominent national clients and manage substantial litigation responsibilities. The position provides a flexible hybrid work arrangement.

Duties

• Independently manage a complex defense litigation caseload from inception through resolution.
• Develop and implement case strategy, including motion practice and trial preparation.
• Draft and argue substantive motions, pleadings, and legal memoranda in state and federal courts.
• Take and defend depositions, manage discovery, and collaborate with expert witnesses.
• Represent clients at court hearings, mediations, and other dispute resolution proceedings.
• Provide strategic legal advice and regular case updates to clients.
• Collaborate with partners and colleagues on complex litigation matters.
• Supervise and mentor junior attorneys and legal support staff.
• Participate in trial preparation, including witness and exhibit management.
• Maintain strong client relationships while delivering high-quality legal work.

Requirements

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice in Texas.
• 8+ years of defense litigation experience.
• Experience with personal injury, general liability, and transportation matters preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Client-facing experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Legal project management experience is helpful.
• First chair trial experience a plus.

Education

• JD from an accredited law school.

• Admitted to practice in Texas.
