Job Overview

A leading law firm is seeking a seasoned Managing Attorney licensed in Delaware with a minimum of 8 years of experience in creditors’ rights law, including foreclosure, litigation, and bankruptcy. This position is ideal for an attorney with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of creditor representation in financial and real estate matters. Duties

Leadership & Oversight

  • Provide legal leadership and strategic direction for practice performance in the assigned state

  • Foster a collaborative, team-oriented culture to promote morale and retention

  • Set clear short- and long-term goals and lead by example

  • Communicate regularly with operations, executive leadership, and legal staff

  • Identify and report reputational risks and compliance issues

Case Management & Compliance

  • Oversee litigation strategy and execution from case intake through trial

  • Conduct legal research and review legal documents, pleadings, and filings

  • Serve as co-counsel and support other attorneys in hearings, conferences, and trials

  • Maintain compliance with regulatory and client-specific requirements

  • Coordinate internal training and client-facing education as needed

Attorney Supervision

  • Manage and mentor associate attorneys

  • Conduct annual performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback

  • Ensure legal services meet client expectations and compliance standards

  • Recommend compensation adjustments based on performance

  • Promote a supportive, professional work environment

Additional Duties

  • Maintain case management system integrity

  • Participate in business development and operational strategy initiatives

  • Assist with hearing coverage and legal representation when needed

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of creditors’ rights legal practice

  • At least 2 years of experience managing attorneys

  • Proven experience working with mortgage servicers and lenders

  • Familiarity with client case management systems such as BKFS LoanSphere, Tempo, and Vendorscape (preferred)

  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to engage with firm leadership

  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload efficiently

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active and in good standing with the Delaware State Bar

Skills

  • Advanced legal research and analytical skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication abilities

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, etc.)

  • Experience with legal case management software
