Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Senior Associate Attorney specializing in Family and Matrimonial Law for their Rochester, NY office. This role offers a leadership track with a clear pathway to Non-Equity Partner, supported by mentorship and structured caseloads.

Duties

• Lead and manage divorce, custody, support, and Family Court matters.
• Serve as lead counsel in hearings, conferences, negotiations, and trials.
• Develop litigation strategy in collaboration with attorneys and paralegals.
• Draft motions, pleadings, financial documents, and settlement agreements.
• Mentor and guide junior attorneys and law clerks.
• Maintain exceptional client communication and professionalism.
• Work with Client Consultation Managers for efficient case onboarding.

Requirements

• J.D., admitted to practice in New York (or eligible under OCA reciprocity).
• 5+ years of litigation experience; family or matrimonial law experience preferred.
• Proven courtroom presence and ability to manage complex, high-conflict cases.
• Strong communication, leadership, and client-management skills.
• Commitment to a high standard of professionalism and client service.

• Juris Doctor (J.D.)
