A law firm is seeking a Bio Patent Counseling Associate Attorney for their Los Angeles, CA office.

Job Overview:

The Biopatent Counseling Associate Attorney will provide legal counsel and strategic guidance to biotech companies and investors regarding patent portfolio development, life cycle management, and intellectual property matters.

Duties:

  • Provide legal advice and support to clients in the biotech industry on patent counseling and prosecution matters.
  • Assist in the development and management of international patent portfolios.
  • Conduct non-infringement and invalidity analysis.
  • Represent clients in post-grant proceedings.
  • Conduct intellectual property due diligence.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to develop comprehensive patent strategies.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience in patent counseling and prosecution.
  • Hold a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related discipline.
  • Experience representing biotech companies and investors.
  • Prior pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.
  • Must be registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Education & Certifications:

  • Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related discipline.
  • Registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of patent law and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
