Job Overview
A law firm seeks a mid-level project finance attorney with debt and tax equity experience to join their Energy and Infrastructure Team in Washington, D.C. The role involves representing clients in the renewable energy sector, focusing on the development, acquisition, and financing of projects.

Duties

  • Represent sponsors and financing parties in renewable energy transactions.
  • Draft and negotiate debt term sheets, loan agreements, and security documents.
  • Draft and negotiate equity capital contribution agreements and partnership agreements.
  • Manage junior associates and transaction processes.
  • Communicate directly with clients and third-party advisors.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in the energy industry at a large law firm or comparable in-house counsel role.
  • Excellent oral communication, writing, research, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage projects and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong academic credentials from a top-tier law school.
  • Admitted to and a member in good standing with the state bar in which they reside.

Education

  • Juris Doctor from a top-tier law school.

Certifications

  • Admitted to the state bar.

Skills

  • Strong familiarity with project finance work in the energy industry.
  • Experience with drafting and negotiating legal documents related to debt and equity.
  • Familiarity with project development and operation contracts.
