A law firm seeks an experienced Senior Associate Attorney to join its growing family law practice in San Jose. This position offers a dynamic and challenging opportunity to work on complex litigation cases, negotiate marital settlement agreements, and facilitate mediation sessions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in family law with a focus on litigation and dispute resolution, and be ready to collaborate in a supportive, team-oriented environment. Duties

  • Manage a variety of family law cases, including divorce, child custody, child support, and related matters.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare case materials for litigation, ensuring thoroughness and accuracy.
  • Draft marital settlement agreements, ensuring all legal provisions are clearly outlined and enforceable.
  • Lead or participate in mediation sessions to help clients resolve disputes amicably.
  • Prepare for and attend court hearings, representing clients in litigation as necessary.
  • Work closely with clients, providing expert legal guidance and maintaining strong professional relationships.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to strategize and advance cases efficiently.
  • Maintain a high level of client satisfaction through proactive communication and strong case management.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of experience in family law, including extensive litigation experience.
  • Licensed to practice law in California.
  • Proven experience in drafting marital settlement agreements and managing complex family law matters.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to advocate effectively in court and negotiations.
  • Exceptional legal research and analytical skills.
  • Ability to travel for court appearances, client meetings, and mediation sessions.
  • Strong interpersonal and team collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently while managing a full caseload and meeting deadlines.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Valid California State Bar license.

  • Expertise in family law, particularly divorce, child custody, and marital settlements.
  • Advanced legal writing and document drafting skills.
  • Strong litigation and trial experience.
  • Proficiency in legal research and case management software.
