Job Overview

A law firm seeks a patent agent or patent attorney with expertise in biotechnology for their New York office. The candidate should have a minimum of five years of experience in preparing and prosecuting patent applications, particularly in the field of in vitro diagnostic assays.

Duties

• Draft and prosecute patent applications in biotechnology.

Requirements

• Minimum of five years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution.
• Experience with in vitro diagnostic assays, immunoassays, CRISPR-based assays, and nucleic acid sequencing.

Education

• M.S. or Ph.D. in molecular biology or a related discipline preferred.
• B.S. in a relevant field with significant post-graduate experience considered.

Certifications

• Active registration with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office required for patent agents.
• Active bar admission in California or New York required for patent attorneys.
