Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid-level finance associate with four to six years of financial transactions experience to join their finance and lending team in Washington, D.C. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience representing both borrowers and lenders across a wide range of complex financing transactions.

Duties

  • Draft, review, and negotiate various financial agreements and related documentation.
  • Support counsel and partners with deal management and progress tasks to closing.
  • Manage and conduct due diligence, issues lists, and transaction checklists.
  • Serve as a primary contact for clients, opposing counsel, and internal teams.
  • Advise clients on post-closing matters and collateral concerns.
  • Conduct legal research and support senior attorneys on financing matters.
  • Participate in client education initiatives and business development presentations.
  • Provide mentorship to junior associates and engage in firm citizenship activities.

Requirements

  • Experience with private funds, multi-tranche capital structures, and intercreditor arrangements.
  • Comfortable leading and managing transactions from inception to completion.
  • Ability to train and manage junior associates.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with strong drafting abilities.

Education

  • Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admitted to and in good standing with the relevant local Bar.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in managing complex financial transactions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
