Job Overview

A law firm seeks a skilled Immigration Attorney in Irving, TX. This full-time position is ideal for attorneys experienced in affirmative and/or defensive immigration matters, looking to grow within a collaborative, litigation-focused environment.

Duties

  • Represent clients before USCIS and EOIR in immigration matters.
  • Manage a diverse caseload of immigration cases.
  • Develop and execute tailored legal strategies.
  • Prepare and file legal documents, including petitions and motions.
  • Appear at court and agency proceedings.
  • Draft legal arguments and responses to RFEs and NOIDs.
  • Conduct legal research and stay updated on immigration law.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff.
  • Lead complex removal defense cases for experienced attorneys.
  • Handle advanced litigation and appeals before the BIA.
  • Act as lead counsel in high-stakes appearances.
  • Provide guidance to Associate Attorneys and Paralegals.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Experience with U.S. immigration matters before USCIS and/or EOIR.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Ability to manage deadlines and caseloads effectively.
  • Commitment to ethical standards and client-centered representation.
  • Significant experience in removal defense and EOIR litigation preferred for senior-level candidates.
  • Experience with BIA appeals and complex waivers preferred.
  • Spanish fluency preferred, not required.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
