A law firm seeks a Strategic Transactions Associate in Washington, DC. The role involves supporting strategic transactions for clients in the Aerospace, Defense, and Next-Generation Energy sectors. The ideal candidate will have a transactional background with experience in drafting and negotiating complex contracts and agreements.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support transaction preparation.
  • Draft and review transactional documents with precision and clarity.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through professional interaction.
  • Collaborate with legal and business professionals to develop transaction strategies.
  • Participate in negotiations and client meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with legal standards and stay updated on legal precedents.
  • Engage in professional development to enhance legal and leadership skills.
  • Contribute to firm programs, civic organizations, and pro bono work.

Requirements

  • 3-6 years of relevant experience in an AmLaw 100 firm.
  • Experience in the Aerospace, Defense, or Energy sectors is encouraged.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently.

Education

  • JD from an accredited law school.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.5.

Certifications

  • Admitted to the DC Bar or ability to gain admission.

Skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good business and professional judgment.
  • Interest in aerospace, defense, and/or energy sector work.
  • Experience working with in-house counsel and technical specialists.
