Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid-level associate to join its Energy, Environment, and Natural Resources practice in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The successful candidate will work on high-stakes legal matters involving critical mineral and energy projects, collaborating with experienced partners and engaging with federal and state agencies.

Duties

  • Collaborate with partners on complex regulatory matters.
  • Engage with federal and state agencies on behalf of clients.
  • Support litigation related to environmental and regulatory issues.
  • Conduct permitting reviews and defend litigation on permits.

Requirements

  • Three to seven years of experience in environmental law or general regulatory matters.
  • Interest in mining and willingness to undergo training.
  • Ability to manage litigation matters effectively.
  • Strong teamwork ethic and critical analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to excel under pressure and meet demanding schedules.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.

Skills

  • Experience with law review, moot court, or trial advocacy preferred.
  • Judicial clerkship experience is highly desired.
