Job Overview:
A highly respected immigration and international human rights law firm is seeking a Business Immigration Attorney with 2–4 years of experience to join its team in the greater Washington, D.C. area. This position offers the opportunity to manage sophisticated business immigration cases in a collaborative, mission-driven environment. The ideal candidate will bring a client-focused approach, strong writing and research skills, and the ability to work well within a team. This position is being recruited on behalf of the law firm by a legal recruiting agency.

Location:

  • Silver Spring, Maryland

Duties:

  • Manage business immigration cases including H-1B, L-1, E-2, O-1, J-1, and PERM matters

  • Conduct legal research and synthesize analysis into memos, briefs, and case strategy

  • Identify and resolve complex immigration issues

  • Communicate with clients and senior attorneys regarding case updates, timelines, and immigration risks

  • Serve as the account manager for assigned clients and maintain timely responsiveness

  • Oversee and mentor paralegals by delegating tasks and providing regular feedback

  • Ensure accurate, timely drafting and filing of immigration documents

  • Contribute to personal and firm-wide marketing and business development initiatives

Requirements:

  • 2–4 years of business immigration law experience (e.g., H-1B, O-1, PERM, etc.)

  • Strong organizational and time management abilities

  • Ability to manage paralegals and coordinate case workflow

  • High degree of professionalism and client service focus

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

  • Active and good standing membership in a U.S. state bar

Skills:

  • Excellent writing and analytical skills

  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills

  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy

  • Proficiency with forms databases and legal software tools

  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
