Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid to senior level associate attorney for their Portland office. This role involves providing comprehensive legal services in bankruptcy, restructuring, and insolvency. The successful candidate will join a team advising on complex commercial issues in large chapter 11 cases, with a focus on both national and regional practices.

Duties

  • Research complex legal matters and provide sound advice.
  • Draft and document high-quality written materials for clients.
  • Represent clients in various forums, including court appearances.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and staff in-office and virtually.
  • Assign support work to paralegals and legal assistants.
  • Present educational materials on latest developments.
  • Facilitate development and learning of associates and staff.
  • Accurately account for time spent on client and firm support.
  • Operate autonomously while seeking support when needed.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
  • At least four years of experience practicing law.
  • Maine Bar admission and good standing in required jurisdictions.
  • Ability to critically think, write, research, and communicate.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Education

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
