Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Financial Services Attorney to join its Consumer Financial Services practice in Ridgeland, Mississippi. This position offers an opportunity to engage in meaningful litigation responsibilities in both state and federal courts, representing financial institutions in single-plaintiff litigation and appeals.

Duties

  • Represent financial institutions in consumer financial services litigation in state and federal courts.
  • Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, and discovery.
  • Conduct depositions, attend hearings, and participate in mediations.
  • Develop litigation strategies and provide legal analysis on complex financial services issues.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient case management and client service.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and communicate case developments effectively.

Requirements

  • Admission to the Mississippi State Bar and in good standing.
  • 5+ years of experience in financial services litigation, mortgage servicing, contested foreclosure, and/or Mississippi commercial litigation.
  • Experience handling depositions, mediations, and court appearances.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines effectively.
  • High level of professionalism, attention to detail, and client service orientation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the Mississippi State Bar.
