Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Medical Malpractice Attorney to join their team in Fairfield, NJ. The successful candidate will manage a comprehensive caseload of medical malpractice claims, working collaboratively with experts and colleagues to achieve favorable outcomes.

Duties

  • Manage and oversee a comprehensive caseload of medical malpractice claims from initial assessment to final resolution.
  • Consult with experts to assess the standard of care and determine breaches.
  • Identify, research, and analyze complex legal issues and conflicting opinions.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, insurance contacts, and opposing counsel.
  • Prioritize assignments and manage competing deadlines efficiently.
  • Take and defend depositions, represent clients in arbitration, and argue motions.
  • Attend in-person and virtual court appearances.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, staff, and partners on legal projects.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of medical malpractice defense experience.
  • Experience with depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and complex assignments.
  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a large caseload and day-to-day tasks.
  • Strong desire to learn and grow professionally.
  • Experience billing for time.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in New Jersey.
