A law firm seeks an Intellectual Property Senior Associate specializing in Life Sciences to join their New York, NY office. This role involves engaging in advanced patent prosecution and litigation within a dynamic team of legal professionals.

Duties

  • Conduct patent prosecution and litigation in the life sciences sector.
  • Manage and develop patent portfolios.
  • Perform competitive landscape analyses and assess patentability.
  • Collaborate with a team of experienced attorneys on complex legal matters.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of post-JD experience in patent prosecution and litigation.
  • Experience with biotechnology, pharmaceutical, gene therapy, medical device, and digital health patents.
  • Admission to practice before the USPTO.
  • Licensed to practice law and in good standing in the relevant jurisdiction (MA, NY, CA, CO, or DC).

Education

  • JD from an accredited law school.
  • Undergraduate degree in Biology.
  • Life sciences PhD strongly preferred.

Certifications

  • Admission to practice before the USPTO.

Skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
