Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Mid-Level Associate Attorney for its Life Sciences team in Pine Brook, NJ. The role involves engaging with complex legal matters in the healthcare and life sciences sectors, focusing on regulatory, transactional, and litigation issues.

Duties

  • Review and negotiate contracts between pharmacies and Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs).
  • Analyze drug benefit reimbursement rates and PBM network terms.
  • Communicate with clients regarding case strategy and status updates.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and written discovery documents.
  • Conduct and defend depositions of witnesses.
  • Prepare for and argue motions in court and arbitration settings.
  • Interface with state boards on regulatory matters.
  • Develop strategies and draft mediation statements.

Requirements

  • 3-6 years of experience in healthcare or life sciences contracting and/or litigation.
  • Direct PSAO and PBM experience strongly preferred.
  • Admitted to practice in at least one US state.
  • Exceptional legal writing, oral advocacy, and research skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in at least one US state.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • High degree of professional judgment and ownership.
