Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Law and Motion Attorney to join their landlord-tenant team in San Diego, CA. The successful candidate will assist in filing and trying unlawful detainer cases on behalf of clients.

Duties

  • Draft motions and oppositions for unlawful detainer cases.
  • Facilitate the discovery phase by propounding and responding to discovery.
  • Draft and negotiate stipulations and settlement agreements.
  • Prepare cases for trial, including drafting trial briefs and jury trial documents.
  • Perform legal research and provide recommendations on legal issues.
  • Respond to client questions to increase and retain business.
  • Assist with occasional court appearances.
  • Attend local property management events to increase firm visibility.

Requirements

  • J.D. and an active California Bar license.
  • 2+ years' experience as a licensed California attorney.
  • General overview of civil litigation.
  • Strong research and writing skills.
  • Familiarity with Lexis or other legal research software.

Education

  • Graduate degree.

Certifications

  • Active California Bar license.
