Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Elder Law Attorney for a remote position with occasional travel to Miami, Florida. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to providing compassionate legal services to seniors, veterans, and families, aligning with the firm's commitment to excellence and client-centered advocacy.

Duties

  • Advocate for seniors and their families by providing strategic legal counsel on Medicaid planning, estate planning, long-term care planning, probate, and guardianships.
  • Lead and mentor a team of paralegals and legal assistants, ensuring efficiency and top-tier client service.
  • Conduct client meetings with care, educating clients on their options and developing customized legal strategies.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including Medicaid applications, trusts, wills, powers of attorney, and court filings.
  • Stay current with Florida Elder Law regulations to provide cutting-edge legal solutions.
  • Collaborate with a supportive team, maintaining communication and teamwork in a remote setting.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law in Florida; additional state licenses are a plus.
  • Experience in Elder Law, including Medicaid planning and long-term care planning.
  • Proven leadership experience with a team of paralegals or legal assistants.
  • Client-focused and compassionate approach to legal practice.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of simplifying complex legal topics.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, managing deadlines and cases efficiently.
  • Proactive and solution-oriented, taking initiative to solve problems.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Florida.
