Job Overview:
A distinguished law firm is seeking an accomplished Senior Attorney with deep experience in bankruptcy and creditors’ rights to join its growing practice. This leadership role is ideal for a Texas-licensed attorney with a strong regional and national network, particularly within the bankruptcy and financial services communities. The ideal candidate will bring a proven ability to develop business, lead high-stakes creditor-focused matters, and maintain an excellent reputation in the legal community.

Location:

  • Houston, Texas

Duties:

  • Handle complex bankruptcy litigation and creditors’ rights matters

  • Serve as special counsel on litigation trusts and related advisory roles

  • Represent creditor interests in insolvency proceedings; no debtor work involved

  • Collaborate with financial institutions and law firms on high-value matters

  • Participate in strategic business development initiatives

  • Build and expand a sustainable legal practice and client portfolio

  • Mentor junior attorneys and contribute to practice group leadership

Requirements:

  • Minimum 15 years of legal experience with a focus on bankruptcy and creditor-side representation

  • Deep understanding of bankruptcy litigation and financial restructuring

  • Extensive relationships within the Texas and New York legal communities

  • Demonstrated experience working with large law firms or institutional clients

  • Clear record of independent client generation ($750,000+ annually)

  • No involvement with debtor-side representation

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in Texas (required)

Skills:

  • Strong business development and relationship-building capabilities

  • Expert-level knowledge of bankruptcy litigation and creditor strategy

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • High-level strategic thinking and leadership ability

  • Well-connected within the bankruptcy legal community (locally and nationally)
