Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Immigration Associate to join their team in White Plains, NY. The successful candidate will provide expert guidance on employment-based immigration matters, representing employers before administrative agencies and preparing various immigration petitions and applications.

Duties

  • Advise and counsel clients on a wide range of immigration laws and regulations.
  • Train clients on immigration compliance and best practices.
  • Represent employers in employment-based immigration petitions and applications.
  • Prepare and submit PERM labor certifications.
  • Prepare and file nonimmigrant and immigrant visa petitions.
  • Prepare and file adjustment of status applications.
  • Supervise and guide paralegals in preparing immigration petitions and applications.

Requirements

  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.
  • 2-7 years of experience in employment-based immigration.
  • Experience with non-immigrant visa petitions, including H-1B, L-1, O-1, E-1/2/3, and TN filings.
  • Experience with immigrant visa filings, including PERM, EB-1 categories, and AOS.
  • J-1 waiver experience is a plus.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Bar admission in good standing.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of employment-based immigration laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and client management skills.
  • Ability to supervise and mentor paralegals effectively.
