A law firm is seeking an experienced lateral partner to join its San Diego, CA office. This role is ideal for a seasoned securities litigator ready to bring a portable book of business and help shape a growing practice group.

Job Overview

An ambitious lateral partner will lead and expand securities litigation matters, mentoring junior attorneys and driving client development. This individual will collaborate with firm leadership to reinforce a culture of excellence and deliver strategic legal solutions for complex financial disputes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Steer high-stakes securities litigation from inception through resolution, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation

  • Cultivate and sustain client relationships, leveraging an existing portable practice to generate new work streams

  • Provide tactical guidance on regulatory investigations, enforcement actions, and class-action defense strategies

  • Supervise, train, and review the work of associates, ensuring adherence to quality standards and deadlines

  • Partner with firm management to develop business plans, revenue forecasts, and marketing initiatives

  • Represent clients in mediation, arbitration, and court proceedings across federal and state forums

  • Draft persuasive briefs, client memoranda, and regulatory filings with clarity and precision

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of hands-on securities litigation experience at a reputable law firm or in-house practice

  • Demonstrated track record of maintaining and growing a portable book of business in the financial services sector

  • Strong working knowledge of SEC rules, FINRA regulations, and related federal securities laws

  • Proven leadership abilities, including mentoring junior lawyers and contributing to firm governance

Education & Certifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

  • Active bar membership in California (other state admissions a plus)
