Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced associate to join its Energy Regulatory administrative litigation practice in Richmond, VA. This role involves significant client exposure and participation in trial-type administrative regulatory proceedings before public service commissions across multiple states.

Duties

  • Represent major utility clients in administrative litigation proceedings.
  • Engage in rate cases, resource planning, and regulatory compliance work.
  • Assist with energy regulatory aspects of transactions involving utility assets.
  • Participate in appellate matters arising from commission outcomes.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of energy regulatory or civil litigation experience preferred.
  • Excellent academic credentials and strong communication skills.
  • Project management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Judicial clerkship experience is encouraged.
  • Willingness to work with innovative technology platforms.
  • VA bar membership or eligibility to obtain within 6 months.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.
