Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Patent Associate with 3-6 years of experience for its Reno, NV office. The ideal candidate will contribute to the firm's intellectual property team, leveraging their expertise to support clients in expanding and protecting their IP portfolios.

Duties

  • Collaborate with clients to develop and protect intellectual property portfolios.
  • Interface with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
  • Negotiate settlements related to intellectual property disputes.
  • Conduct legal research and draft legal documents.

Requirements

  • 3-6 years of experience in patent law.
  • Admitted to the USPTO or eligible to take the Patent Bar.
  • Excellent academic performance.
  • Strong writing, analytical, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Education

  • JD required.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software, or Computer Science preferred.

Certifications

  • USPTO admission or eligibility.

Skills

  • Experience with consumer electronics, software, including web-based services, full-stack development, generative AI, machine learning, data structures, data storage, and databases preferred.
