Job Overview

A law firm seeks an associate attorney in Seattle, WA, with 2-5 years of experience in all phases of commercial litigation. Candidates must be licensed in Washington and Oregon and possess the ability to work independently on complex litigation cases.

Duties

  • Manage files throughout the litigation process independently and as part of a team.
  • Conduct fact investigations.
  • Handle document productions and other discovery tasks.
  • Prepare witnesses for deposition.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Prepare pleadings, briefs, and motions.
  • Review and analyze policies, contracts, and other legal documents.
  • Prepare for and attend court hearings, including oral arguments of motions.
  • Prepare for and attend trials, providing trial team support and conducting direct and cross-examinations of witnesses.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law in Washington and Oregon.
  • 2-5 years of experience in commercial litigation.
  • Ability to work independently on complex cases.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Bar admission in Washington and Oregon.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in legal research and document review.
