Job Overview

A law firm seeks a litigation associate attorney to join their Professional Liability Practice Group in Chicago, IL. The role involves handling local and national litigation engagements involving professionals, executives, and insurance companies. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of litigation experience, including insurance coverage and professional liability matters.

Duties

• Assist with litigated general and professional liability coverage and bad faith matters in state and federal courts.
• Analyze coverage issues and draft coverage position correspondence.
• Prepare pleadings, discovery, and motions.
• Communicate with clients and prepare reports.
• Participate in status conferences, court hearings, depositions, and mediations.
• Contribute to case strategy and execution in complex litigation.

Requirements

• Active bar license in Illinois.
• Experience in insurance coverage matters.
• Litigation experience in state or federal courts.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong writing, organizational, and advocacy skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
