Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid-level Real Estate Investment and Finance Associate to join its Chicago, Illinois office. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of complex commercial real estate experience and be admitted to the Illinois State Bar or eligible for submission on waiver.

Duties

  • Handle real estate debt and equity transactions.
  • Draft transactional documents, including equity operating documents, loan documents, and purchase and sale agreements.
  • Conduct transactional due diligence, including title and survey reviews.
  • Manage all aspects of transactional closings.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment and take ownership of work assignments.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of complex commercial real estate experience.
  • Admitted to the Illinois State Bar or eligible for submission on waiver.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Admitted to the Illinois State Bar.

Skills

  • Strong transactional document drafting skills.
  • Ability to manage transactional closings independently.
  • Excellent judgment and responsibility in work assignments.
