Job Overview

A law firm seeks a full-time Trusts and Estates Attorney admitted in New York State with at least three years of experience to join their practice group in Binghamton, NY. The firm is committed to client relationships and meeting the needs of individual, business, and municipal clients.

Duties

  • Represent clients in the estate planning process.
  • Draft estate planning and trust administration documents.
  • Assist clients with trust funding and provide guidance.
  • Prepare and assemble federal estate tax returns.
  • Understand Surrogate's Court/Probate Court processes.
  • Manage trust and probate administration matters.
  • Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations related to estate planning.
  • Provide sound judgment with attention to detail.
  • Utilize analytical and research skills to support case work.
  • Maintain excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Requirements

  • Current New York Bar admission.
  • 3+ years of Trusts and Estates experience preferred.
  • Strong desire to further legal skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • New York State Bar admission.
