Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Estate and Succession Planning Attorney in Meridian. The role involves advising clients and drafting legal documents related to estate planning, estate and gift tax, and business succession planning, while supporting partner-level attorneys.

Duties

• Meet with clients to understand their wishes and draft documents such as Wills, Trusts, and Powers of Attorney.
• Advise on estate, gift, GST tax, and income tax matters for mid to high net worth individuals and families.
• Engage in estate administration, including preparing and filing probate documents and attending hearings.

Requirements

• Should have 8 years of experience in estate planning, estate and gift tax, and business succession planning.
• Excellent written and oral presentation skills.
• Ability to summarize complex problems and propose solutions.
• Organizational and project management skills.
• Proficient in online legal research services.
• Sound and independent judgment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Manage new and existing client relationships.
• Involvement in business development activities.

Education

• Graduate of an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admitted to the State Bar or eligible for prompt admission.

Skills

• Experience in complex estate planning matters.
• A portable book of business is preferred but not required.
