Job Overview:
A national plaintiffs' law firm is seeking a Class Action Associate Attorney to join its Chicago office. This position involves handling complex state and federal class action litigation focused on consumer protection, privacy, and unfair business practice matters.

Duties:

  • Manage class action cases through various stages of litigation in state and federal courts
  • Conduct factual and legal investigations related to potential and active class action claims
  • Draft and file pleadings, motions, memoranda, demands, and other litigation documents
  • Prepare and respond to written discovery requests and discovery responses
  • Guide clients throughout the litigation process and provide case updates
  • Work with expert witnesses, including coordinating and preparing expert reports and affidavits
  • Prepare for and participate in depositions, mediations, hearings, and court appearances
  • Support case strategy development and litigation planning for complex consumer-related disputes

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of class action litigation experience
  • Experience handling complex litigation matters, including motion practice and depositions
  • Prior trial experience preferred
  • Plaintiffs-side class action experience preferred
  • Strong commitment to client service and case advocacy
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Clerkship and law review experience preferred

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
  • Active membership in good standing with the applicable State Bar Association

Skills:

  • Exceptional legal research abilities, including advanced case law research
  • Strong drafting and written advocacy skills
  • Excellent oral advocacy and communication abilities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively on complex litigation matters
  • Strong client relationship and case management skills
