Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Entertainment Transactions Associate Attorney in Los Angeles. This role involves working on sophisticated entertainment financing and corporate transactions, as well as day-to-day talent and production matters in the music industry. The ideal candidate will have two to three years of transactional experience in the music business and a passion for the entertainment sector.

Duties

  • Review and coordinate preparation of comments on standard third-party participant agreements for compositions and recorded music.
  • Draft and coordinate revision of standard third-party participant agreements and other basic agreements in music and entertainment.
  • Participate in drafting, managing, and negotiating high-value asset purchase agreements in music.
  • Engage in sophisticated corporate and financing transactions in the entertainment space.
  • Collaborate with teams of associates, partners, consultants, and professionals.
  • Develop critical thinking and strategy in intellectual property matters.

Requirements

  • Two to three years of experience in the music business.
  • Passion for helping recording artists fulfill their visions.
  • Proactive self-starter with a "can do" mindset.
  • Experience with or interest in catalog sales and acquisitions.
  • Strong organizational skills; able to manage multiple matters simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • California Bar membership in good standing.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
