Job Overview:

A nationally recognized civil litigation law firm is currently seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney with a minimum of four years of experience to join its growing legal team. Known for its strength in product liability defense and general civil litigation, the firm offers a dynamic work environment where associates gain hands-on experience through depositions, hearings, motion practice, and trials. This role is ideal for a motivated litigator looking to take ownership of their caseload and contribute meaningfully to high-stakes matters.

Location:

  • Albuquerque, NM

Duties:

  • Independently manage a litigation caseload from initiation through resolution

  • Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, and briefs

  • Conduct legal research and contribute to case strategy development

  • Participate in depositions, hearings, and court appearances

  • Collaborate closely with partners and fellow associates on complex legal matters

  • Lead client communications and provide timely, strategic updates

  • Contribute to trial preparation and participate in trials as needed

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in civil litigation

  • Experience with product liability or insurance defense is preferred but not required

  • Ability to handle multiple matters with minimal supervision

  • Proven ability to take initiative in both litigation and client relationship management

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active bar license in New Mexico (for Albuquerque or Santa Fe roles)

  • Good standing with respective state bar

Skills:

  • Exceptional legal writing and oral advocacy skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities

  • Ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities

  • Effective communicator with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
