Job Overview

Responsibilities

  • Conduct legal research and analyze complex legal issues.
  • Assist in case preparation and presentation, including drafting pleadings and briefs.
  • Participate in depositions, mediations, and trial proceedings.
  • Represent clients in court on various litigation matters.
  • Provide legal advice and counsel, including litigation strategies and settlement negotiations.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and team members to achieve case goals.
  • Stay updated on changes in laws, regulations, and court decisions.
  • Maintain accurate records of case-related activities.
  • Perform administrative tasks related to legal cases.
  • Utilize legal databases for research and staying current with legal developments.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New Mexico State Bar.
  • 2+ years of experience in general litigation, real estate transactions, business partnership disputes, or personal injury.
  • Excellent research and writing skills.
  • Ability to litigate effectively in court.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in legal administrative tasks and document management.
  • Experience with legal databases, including Westlaw.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the New Mexico State Bar.
