Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Immigration Associate Attorney for its Miami office. This role offers the opportunity to work on significant immigration matters, collaborating with attorneys across various levels within the Labor, Employment, Benefits, and Immigration Section. The ideal candidate will have experience in employment-based immigration and labor and employment law, with strong academic credentials and research skills. Admission to practice in Florida is preferred.

Duties

  • Handle a diverse caseload of immigration matters, including non-immigrant petitions and green card processes.
  • Conduct legal research into immigration laws and policies to provide accurate client advice.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and administrative personnel on complex immigration matters.
  • Draft legal arguments, forms, and petition packages for various visa categories.
  • Manage cases from start to finish with limited supervision.
  • Contribute to case strategy and analysis using creative problem-solving skills.
  • Represent clients at USCIS interviews.
  • Communicate with clients, government agencies, and other parties involved in cases.
  • Stay updated on immigration law changes to ensure compliance and strategic advice.
  • Assist in business development and client consultations to grow the practice.
  • Participate in training programs and professional development opportunities.
  • Engage in practice group strategy meetings and team-building events.
  • Maintain ethical standards and client confidentiality.
  • Keep accurate records of time spent on projects.

Requirements

  • Bar admission required; Florida preferred.
  • Experience in immigration and labor and employment law.
  • Strong academic credentials and research skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Admittance to practice law in the United States.

Skills

  • Excellent knowledge of immigration law and practice.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
  • Proficiency in legal research and writing.
