A law firm in Bethesda is seeking a Family Law Associate Attorney. The associate attorney will be responsible for conducting research, developing case information, and assisting with trial preparations. They will work closely with senior attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to manage cases, maintain client communication, and execute case strategy. Strong writing and analytical skills, along with excellent academic credentials, are required for this role.

 

Duties:

  • Conduct research and develop case information, evidence, and settlement options
  • Track cases and maintain case records
  • Handle trial preparations with senior attorneys
  • Execute case strategy with senior attorneys, paralegals, clients, and support staff
  • Manage high-level and high-asset cases by maintaining contact with involved parties, drafting pleadings and correspondence, and preparing for depositions
  • Keep clients informed of case progress and updates
  • Support case planning by preparing case summaries, materials for mediation conferences, and organizing case materials
  • Manage the discovery process, including review and analysis of discovery responses, preparation of requests, responses, pleadings, and correspondence related to discovery
  • Assist with trial proceedings by organizing evidence, preparing exhibits, scheduling witnesses, and ensuring witness readiness
  • Attend business development and networking functions

 

Requirements:

  • Maryland and DC Bar admission required
  • 1-5 years of experience in family law
  • Excellent writing and analytical skills
  • Strong academic credentials

 

Education:

Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited law school

 

Certifications:

Maryland and DC Bar admission

 

Skills:

  • Strong writing and analytical skills
  • Case management and trial preparation abilities
  • Communication and client management skills
