Job Overview

A prominent law firm located in Austin, TX, is seeking a skilled litigation associate with 3-5 years of experience to support its national Product Liability & Mass Torts practice. This role involves working on high-stakes individual, multidistrict, and class action litigation on behalf of product manufacturers across diverse industries. The position offers the opportunity to participate in all phases of litigation, contribute to sophisticated legal strategies, and play a key role in collaborative trial teams handling challenging matters in complex jurisdictions.

Duties

  • Support trial teams in all stages of litigation, including pre-trial strategy, discovery, and courtroom proceedings

  • Draft legal memoranda, motions, pleadings, and briefs for high-exposure tort matters

  • Conduct complex legal research and analysis on product liability, toxic torts, and environmental claims

  • Participate in fact and expert discovery, including depositions and witness preparation

  • Assist in case management for individual lawsuits, MDLs, and mass torts across jurisdictions

  • Collaborate with partners and senior associates in developing litigation strategies for national clients

  • Monitor developments in relevant legal areas and provide insights to the broader litigation team

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of litigation experience, particularly in product liability, mass tort, or toxic/environmental torts

  • Background at a mid- to large-sized law firm with a focus on trial work or complex civil litigation

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple matters and meet tight deadlines

  • Admission to the Texas State Bar or eligibility to practice under local rules

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Admission to practice law in the state of Texas (required)

Skills

  • Exceptional legal writing and oral advocacy abilities

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

  • Experience coordinating discovery and managing large-scale litigation dockets
