Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Estate Planning and Elder Law Attorney to join their team in East Greenwich, RI. The ideal candidate will manage their own caseload, provide strategic advice, and contribute to the firm's growth with their own referral sources and book of business.

Duties

  • Oversee workflow in Estate Planning and Elder Law practice areas.
  • Counsel clients on estate planning matters, including wills and trusts.
  • Conduct client consultations and develop tailored estate plans.
  • Assist with elder law issues, such as Medicaid and long-term care planning.
  • Handle probate and estate administration proceedings.
  • Conduct legal research and draft legal documents.
  • Stay current on relevant laws and regulations.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients.
  • Cultivate relationships with clients and referral sources.
  • Utilize estate planning software effectively.
  • Track and manage billable hours.

Requirements

  • Active license to practice law in Rhode Island (additional licensure preferred).
  • 2-3 years of experience in Estate Planning and Elder Law.
  • Strong understanding of estate planning principles and elder law regulations.
  • Proven track record in managing complex cases.
  • Established referral sources and a book of business.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
