A law firm seeks an Oil and Gas Title Attorney in Houston, Texas. This full-time role is integral to providing precise legal solutions and ensuring client satisfaction. The position offers opportunities for both in-office and hybrid work environments.

Duties

  • Conduct title examinations to determine ownership of oil and gas properties.
  • Analyze documents such as deeds, leases, and contracts to establish ownership rights.
  • Draft title opinions highlighting defects, liens, or issues impacting property ownership.
  • Conduct due diligence reviews for oil and gas transactions.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate agreements and contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with litigation attorneys for dispute resolution.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to execute complex legal transactions.
  • Meet quarterly billable requirement of 450 hours.
  • Engage in continuous learning and professional development.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active license.
  • At least one year of experience drafting title opinions for Texas lands.
  • Familiarity with preparing large, unit-wide division order ownerships.
  • Commitment to ethical practice and client confidentiality.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

  • Active legal license.
