Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Real Estate Counsel in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in real estate transactions, including development and redevelopment projects. This role involves working with developers, owners, investors, and other stakeholders on complex transactions across various asset classes.

Duties

  • Draft and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, commercial leases, and development agreements.
  • Lead due diligence processes, including title and survey reviews.
  • Coordinate and close acquisitions, dispositions, and development transactions.
  • Manage workstreams and mentor junior lawyers.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of sophisticated real estate transactional experience.
  • Experience at a major law firm with a national practice is required.
  • Proven track record in acquisitions, dispositions, and build-to-suit leasing.
  • Experience in zoning, entitlements, and complex documentation negotiation.
  • Licensed to practice law and in good standing in the practicing state.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in the relevant state.
