Business Immigration Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a business immigration attorney in Chicago, Illinois, to join their team and work on U.S. and global immigration matters. This off-track associate attorney position involves handling complex visa petitions and supporting senior associates and partners in client counseling.

Duties

• Draft and assemble employer-sponsored visa petitions, including complex NIV and IV petitions.
• Support the PERM Labor Certification process.
• Prepare first drafts of client communication for senior associates and partners.
• Track and analyze client documentation for evidentiary standards.
• Manage multiple assignments using internal case management tools.
• Stay current on agency guidance, policy changes, and emerging legislation.

Requirements

• Client service mindset with exceptional analytical and organizational skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail and flexibility to handle concurrent tasks.
• Top academic credentials and strong analytical ability.
• Excellent communication and writing skills.
• One to three years of U.S. business immigration experience required.
• Global immigration experience is a plus.
• Must provide a writing sample.
• Admitted to and a member in good standing of the Illinois bar.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in Illinois.
