Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Innovation Counsel to join their Practice Innovation team in Santa Monica. This role involves advancing practice-specific initiatives to maximize the value of innovation technologies and practices, collaborating with various teams to drive best practices in legal technology.

Duties

• Support legal technology adoption initiatives impacting practice groups.
• Design playbooks for best practices in innovation technologies.
• Organize presentations, status reports, and executive briefings.
• Collaborate on initiative prioritization and evangelize its value.
• Develop objectives and success metrics for technology adoption.
• Analyze operational workflows to identify improvement areas.
• Drive legal technology pilots and continuous improvements.
• Assist in developing communication campaigns for change management.
• Maintain practice group-specific resources and automate efforts.

Requirements

• 4+ years of applicable experience in legal practice or technology adoption.
• Active bar membership or registered in-house counsel status.
• Experience in cross-functional projects involving legal technology.
• Understanding of large law firm financial and work allocation processes.

Education

• Juris Doctor or non-US equivalent.

Certifications

• Active member in good standing of the bar(s) in applicable jurisdictions.

Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and firm applications.
• Strong presentation and communication skills.
• Ability to analyze and solve legal service delivery problems.
• Experience with distributed systems and core large law technologies.
• Ability to leverage data for insights and storytelling.
