Private Clients, Trusts & Estates Associate

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a junior associate with 1-3 years of experience to join its Private Clients, Trusts & Estates practice in Chicago, IL. The associate will collaborate with ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families on complex estate, gift, generation-skipping transfer, and income tax planning matters.

Duties

• Draft a broad range of estate planning documents, including wills and trusts.
• Research and analyze federal and state transfer tax issues.
• Assist with trust and estate administration matters.
• Prepare memoranda and other client work products.
• Participate in client meetings.
• Coordinate with accountants, investment advisors, and fiduciaries.

Requirements

• Strong academic credentials.
• Excellent drafting, analytical, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated interest in trusts and estates, private wealth, or tax planning.
• Experience in trusts and estates, taxation, or private client matters preferred.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Bar admission in Illinois or eligibility to waive in.
