Job Overview

A law firm seeks a talented and motivated associate attorney to join their team in Houston, TX, focusing on renewable energy matters, including financing and acquisitions. This role offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated transactions in the energy transition sector.

Duties

  • Assist in structuring and negotiating tax equity financings, tax credit transfers, joint ventures, and preferred equity investments.
  • Support the development, construction, financing, acquisition, and disposition of energy infrastructure projects.
  • Advise clients on tax credit monetization strategies for renewable energy and energy transition projects.
  • Contribute to mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other strategic corporate transactions.
  • Draft, review, and analyze transaction documents and conduct legal due diligence.

Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with the relevant state bar or eligibility for admission by waiver or examination.
  • 1-8 years of relevant experience in project finance, energy transactions, tax equity, and/or corporate M&A.
  • Strong drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and work collaboratively within a fast-paced, high-performing team.
  • A demonstrated interest in renewable energy, the energy transition, and project finance.

Education

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in good standing with the relevant state bar or eligibility for admission by waiver or examination.

Skills

  • Strong drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters efficiently.
  • Collaborative team player in a high-performing environment.
