Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid-to-senior-level Associate in Charleston, SC, to join the Patent Prosecution and Litigation Practice Group on the Electrical Engineering and Software Team.

Duties

• Draft and prosecute patent applications.
• Engage in patent litigation activities.
• Collaborate with team members on complex legal matters.
• Provide legal advice on intellectual property issues.

Requirements

• 4 to 7 years of relevant experience.
• Licensed to practice law or ability to become licensed in the state of employment.
• Membership with the USPTO.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent academic credentials.
• Strong organizational and analytical abilities.

Education

• Background in computer science, electrical engineering, or similar field.

Certifications

• USPTO membership.

Skills

• Experience with AI/machine learning, software design and development, semiconductors, and medical devices is a plus.
