Job Overview

A law firm seeks an attorney with 2 to 8 years of experience in creditor's rights, restructuring, and bankruptcy for their Albany, NY office. This role offers hybrid flexibility, allowing for both in-office and remote work based on business needs.

Duties

  • Represent financial institutions and commercial lenders in complex loan workouts and restructurings.
  • Draft and prepare loan documents and credit enforcement documents.
  • Advise clients on legal strategies and risks in debtor-creditor relationships.
  • Conduct risk assessments and documentation reviews.
  • Develop strategies to recover assets and minimize exposure to claims.
  • Represent clients in state and federal courts for foreclosure and debt recovery actions.
  • Prepare pleadings, discovery, and motions in court proceedings.
  • Advocate in bankruptcy court proceedings and contested matters.
  • Represent creditors in various bankruptcy cases and related proceedings.
  • Analyze debtor filings and protect client interests.
  • Enforce judgments through garnishments, liens, and levy proceedings.
  • Negotiate and litigate loan workout agreements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align strategies across practice areas.
  • Mentor junior attorneys and paralegals on court procedures and case management.

Requirements

  • J.D from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York Bar.
  • 2 to 8 years of experience in creditor's rights, restructuring, and bankruptcy law.
  • Experience representing financial institutions in loan workouts and litigation.
  • Preferred experience in commercial debt collection and post-judgment enforcement.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and issues.
  • Strategic, detail-oriented, with excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Education

  • J.D from an accredited law school.
