Job Overview

A law firm seeks an SIU Litigation Attorney with over four years of experience for its office in Rye Brook, NY. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in combating insurance fraud and possess excellent litigation and investigative skills.

Duties

  • Collaborate with SIU departments to defend against fraudulent claims.
  • Research, prepare, file, and litigate fraud actions, including RICO and other affirmative actions.
  • Develop litigation strategies and negotiate complex matters.
  • Review file assignments and strategize for resolution.
  • Draft motions, memorandums, and other legal briefs.
  • Conduct depositions and examinations under oath.
  • Attend arbitrations, mediations, and trials.
  • Prepare and conduct court appearances in State and Federal Court.
  • Negotiate settlements and draft related documents.

Requirements

  • Minimum of four years of litigation experience.
  • Strong legal writing and negotiation skills.
  • Experience with BI, UM, Trucking and Transportation, Labor Law, First Party Property, PIP, and Work Comp preferred.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Admission to the State Bar of New York.
