Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Licensing Attorney with 2-6 years of experience to join their Fintech and Financial Advisory practice in Washington, DC. The role involves providing legal support for a high-volume nationwide licensing practice, focusing on state and federally regulated financial services companies.

Duties

  • Assist clients with all stages of the licensing life cycle.
  • Conduct comprehensive multistate legal reviews to identify licensing requirements.
  • Provide direct support throughout the license application process.
  • Draft and compile state filings.
  • Advise clients on compliance obligations for regulated entities.
  • Engage in regulatory, compliance, corporate, and transactional work.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor and membership to the State Bar of the desired office.
  • Two to six years of legal experience handling licensing matters.
  • Familiarity with the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System (NMLS).
  • Experience reviewing and analyzing state statutes and regulations.
  • General knowledge of federal consumer finance laws.
  • Ability to produce thorough, efficient, and detail-oriented work.
  • Excellent communication and interactive skills.
  • Strong planning and organization skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Good writing skills.
