Job Overview:

A law firm is seeking a dedicated and experienced Associate Attorney to join their San Francisco, CA team. The Associate Attorney will handle cases before the Immigration Court, the Board of Immigration Appeals, and the Federal Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in Immigration Court, the Board of Immigration Appeals, and the Federal Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare legal documents, including briefs, motions, and appeals.
  • Provide legal counsel and guidance to clients on immigration matters.
  • Develop and implement case strategies tailored to clients' needs and goals.
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and government agencies.
  • Stay updated on changes in immigration law and policy.
  • Manage a caseload and ensure timely submission of filings and adherence to deadlines.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and legal staff within the firm.

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of experience in immigration law.
  • Proven track record of handling cases before the Immigration Court, the Board of Immigration Appeals, and the Federal Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of professionalism and ethical standards.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the State Bar.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of immigration law and procedures.
  • Proficiency in legal research and legal database tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent negotiation and advocacy skills.
  • Fluency in a second language is a plus.
